TheLegendsLeague: Top 10 Resolutions
Wednesday, December 31st, 2008
So, it’s that time of year again - New Years Eve! A time when everyone decides they need to reassess their lives and make some improvements and fine tunings in order to be a better person in the coming year and hopefully enjoy their lives a little bit more. We’ve all taken time at one point in our lives to create resolutions. A lot of times they’re ridiculous, too pricey, and not realistic, and most of the time they end up nearly entirely forgotten by the time Valentine’s Day comes around. My thought on this is that it’s not that we give up so much as it’s the fact that we’re not totally equipped with the advice and tools we need to really tackle some of these goals we set for ourselves every January 1st.
So I took it upon myself to take a second and Google Search some of the most popular New Years Resolutions, and I came across this list:
10. Get Organized
9. Help Others
8. Learn Something New
7. Get Out Of Debt
6. Quit Drinking
5. Enjoy Life More
4. Quit Smoking
3. Tame The Bulge
2. Fit In Fitness
1. Spend Time With Family & Friends
I thought these were great resolutions and thought I would give some of my insight and opinions on each of them to hopefully help you guys out with some of the ones, which I’m sure are on this list, that you’ve decided to implement into your lives for 2009!
Your support this year has been AMAZING, and 2008 wouldn’t have been the same without you. Thank you for all the love shown and for continuing to believe in my work, my goals, and what I strive to put forward with TheLegendsLeague.
Enjoy the videos and be safe tonight.
Love&Respect as usual.

A Photo A Day by Tim Okura: February

—————————————
Aside from being one of the O.G. contributors to TheLegendsLeague from the start and one of my favourite designers, Tim Okura has a pretty crazy eye for photos that are dope just for the old school sake of being dope. Not making them victims of an abusive Photoshopaholic father, he’s decided to take 1 photo a day for the entire year on his point and shoot Pentax Optio camera and lay them into a vintage style photo frame for the sharing.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to have them at my finger tips to share with you.
Enjoy. Daily.
And feel free to let us know what you think, feel, taste, and smell when you see them.
Love&Respect as usual.

Adrenaline… Once Again.
Saturday, December 27th, 2008
(Photo of me looking in my bathroom mirror right after putting my old earrings back in.)
I woke up on Christmas morning and realized that the earring in my right lobe was missing. I was a little upset, but I’m used to this type of shit happening and expected to find it very soon. I spent the day with my daughter and when I left to go home, the earring in my left lobe fell out too!!! WTF, right?! I recovered that one and put it back in before hopping in a cab home.
For those of you who know me and/or have seen me before, you’ll know that I have my earlobes stretched to about a 4 gauge. This is actually a lower gauge than I was at before my last arrest where my earlobe was ripped in a fight and I was unable to wear anything in my left ear. Don’t worry, it didn’t rip right out, so relax. lol. I decided to let it heal and sized down to a 4 from a 0.

So I get home and I look in my bathroom cabinet for my old jewelry so that I can have a pair in my ears. And what do I see? My OLD, OLD zero gauge earrings from about 5 years ago. And what did Bryan do next? He put those motherfuckers in.I miss that adrenaline. I miss it a lot.
And it felt guuud as a motherfucker.
Here’s to Adrenaline.. Once Again..

My Work: Canada Plays PSP
Saturday, December 27th, 2008
A couple months back I was given the opportunity to work once again with my friend, mentor and boss at Segal Communications, Ben Shirinian, on yet another spot (basically a commercial) for Sony Playstation. The last time we worked on something like this was the release of the PlayStation 3, where we conceptualized “The Wait”, a spot that was aired in theatres across the country to support the billboards, bus ads and train station takeover I designed. Ben directed “The Wait”, and I was basically his storyboard artist, helping create the initial building blocks for his vision.
We work really well together, and I have learned so much about my abilities as an Art Director with his guidance and faith.
He trusted me at a time when I had just got into the business and was still learning the ropes. That trust resulted in a huge success for the Canadian launch of PS3.
This time around, working on the PSP spot, I felt like we were both much more comfortable in our abilities and sense of direction, and we were able to communicate our visual ideas in a way that made it easy for the folks at Logan in LA, to make this thing look as amazing as they did.
It’s been playing all kinds this Holiday Season, especially on Teletoon and on MuchMusic. So if you see it, be sure to jump up and down and yell to your family and friends that you know the motherfucker who co-art directed that shit!
This won’t be the last of the work you see from Ben and I.
I promise.
(Ben, I wanna say thanks dude. If I don’t ever say it. I appreciate your help like you don’t even know.)
——————————————-
Here are some pics of the PS3 shit I did.
This is a shot of the stairwell at the track level of Eglinton Station here in Toronto, taken in 2006. I made sure that the artwork for this shot, as well as most of the billboards that were across the country, had 19 ships to represent the 19th letter in the alphabet - “S”. This was a subliminal shout out to my daughter, Saren-Sol, and my lady, Stace. I don’t fuck around dunny.
It was overwhelming to see my work up there. I had just got my first salary paying job, had just left working at a youth center, was still on probation for multiple assault charges, and there I was standing in one of the busiest train stations in the city with my designs all over the place. I can’t tell you how good it felt.

You Make My Life Feel Like Christmas
Friday, December 26th, 2008
Last night as I left my daughter’s house, she stood on her bed and reached up to give me a hug before I walked out of her room. As I hugged her, I said to her, “I’m sorry baby. I’m sorry I didn’t get you a bunch of stuff that you liked.” She said to me, “It’s okay, dad. You got me a bunch of stuff that I need. Like the clothes. I loved them. It’s okay.”
I know you don’t read my blog. And I know you know because I let you know at least ten times every day that I get to see you. But I love you, baby. And I want to tell you that you made my Christmas yesterday when you said that to me.
