TheLegendsLeague: Brother by Shad K

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I know I’ve posted this video before, but I am always drawn back to it. This young man has something special that I’m afraid will go unnoticed and unrecognized amidst the entertainment value of most of whats out in the music world today. His writing skills are remarkable. His flow is a throwback to some of my favorite days of emceeing and hip-hop, (think Native Tongues or Boogiemonsters fame). His performance is compelling. And he wears his heart on his verses.

I don’t know the brother like that, but I hope the successes he searches for find him before getting stuck in webs less deserving.

Listen to this track when you watch the video. Really listen to what the brother is saying.

I Welcome Shad K and his track, “Brother (Watching) to TheLegendsLeague.

note: Shout out to my homey Amir on the beat. I’m sorry I couldn’t come see you my dude.

Shana Tova

Monday, September 29th, 2008

To all my people celebrating Rosh Hashanah, I wanna say “shana tova”. (I hope I spelled that right. If not, blame D).

There is a very good possibility that if you’re celebrating tomorrow, you’ve only wished me well over the passed few years and have done wonders in advancing my life and career. I wish the same successes and kindness to you. If you have wished nothing but failure on me and spoken poorly of my doings.. at least we know that things change. Well, I hope they do, and look forward to a bright future.

All the best to you and your families, and thank you, sincerely, for everything you’ve done for me. I appreciate it greatly. You know who you are.

Love&Respect as usual.
Bryan.

The World is Just Awesome

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Discovery and A&E are just about the only channels I watch on television. That is of course until I get Rogers On Demand and then HBO’s gonna have a new custy. Here’s my current favourite TV spot. Even if I’m working, when this shit comes on, I’m watching it.

Other notable TV spots that make me stop working:

“His blood smells like cologne”.

All of the above.

Silverman For Obama

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Thanks to my Jewish boss, Benny for this video. And a big shout out to all the American Legends League readers. Let’s make this shit happen. And when I say “shit”, I mean the opportunity for change. Global influential change has already occurred thanks to his being elected the Democratic candidate for the President of the United States, but I hope that he not only wins the election, but also does a good job in leading the (once) most powerful nation on the planet back to a position where they can hopefully provide some level of global unity and safety. It would be a shame for things to go poorly for him and all the ignorance be leaned on issues that are not relative to his ability to make proper judgements and precise choices - namely race. The world no longer lives within borders, and so I am very, very concerned about this election as I’m sure many of you are as well. Yes, this is a humorous video. But please try your best to play your part in helping to get him that one extra vote.

In the fine slingo of a close business associate:
“We wouldn’t wanna go on getting schtupped now, would we?”

Enjoy.

TheLegendsLeague: Mike Burnz

My young bro Mike Burnz aka my little cousin out in LA is one of my biggest influences and biggest sources of inspiration. There aren’t many people I trust. There actually is only a handful of people I would be considerate enough to say that I’ve even thought about trusting. And he is definitely one of them.

Outside of the fact that we’re family, we’re like brothers on the real. We were always into the same shit, always about the same things, the same gear, the same music, lusted for the same whips, and we both were b-boys. The thing about him is that he kept keeping on. He never gave up on the dance. He never slowed down because of his life responsibilities or his struggles, and now he’s still doin his thing, training with dudes who I used to look up to as a dancer.

He works for everything he has and owns what he owns because he earned it, not with the help of family or trust funds. He hustles foreal, on some legit shit, to make sure he’s not trapped in the bullshit holes our parents mistakes may have dug us into.

And now he’s got that white on white, pulling up to the terminal real Rossy.

My young dude is my heart. And I missed him for the 4 years that I wasn’t able to be back out in Cali.

I Welcome Mike Burnz to TheLegendsLeague.

Don’t hate.

Life Blood is a design I did probably about 2 years ago, and it is still one of my proudest pieces to date. Just wanted to share some old work for all the new comers.
