Web & Broadcast
Here are some examples of various web and broadcast pieces I’ve worked on, ranging from programming for local blogs to art direction and story boarding national campaigns for PlayStation.
WWF Earth Hour 2008 Facebook Page – Design
Client: WWF via Segal Communications Project Details: I art directed and designed this flash based animation of a couple walking on a turning globe that featured a digital clock counting down in real time to Earth Hour 2008. The lights on the buildings turned off as the couple passed and flowers bloomed from beneath their feet. Programming for this piece was done by our web department.

1LOVETO.com – Development
Client: 1LOVETO Project Details: The layout for the blog was designed by my friend Bryan Brock. The goal was to create a clean, simple design that would not be dated as fads came and went and was welcoming to many demographics that 1LOVETO’s content would attract. I developed the code to make the blog design come together and added subtleties to tie back to the 1LOVETO brand such as the speech bubble heart on the comments button.

City Life Film Project Website- Design
Client: City Life Film Project Project Details: I designed this simply navigated website for the City Life Film Project, keeping in mind that the roots of their initiatives were grounded in helping youth from priority neighborhoods learn the skills necessary to bring their ideas to the screen through film. I wanted it to be gritty, but still very clean.

Home Basics Site Concept- Design
Client: Unilever via Segal Communications Project Details: My goal was to design a homepage for Home Basics that was welcoming to a 30 – 40 year old female demographic that provided access to articles and features, media and quick quizes all within a single click.

MotorStorm MuchMusic Takeover Concept- Design
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: This takeover of the MuchMusic site featured an ATV that would coming crashing out of an ad and into environments that appeared to be from other ads that I created on the page, such as a beach for “The Sandies” new CD, or up a ramp for the “2nd Annual Cross City Free Skate”. The man in the “Atlas Tours” ad would point at the ATV as it smashed the MuchMusic page and sped off into the “Tear up the Pacific Rift” ad for PlayStation.

PlayStation Greatest Hits – Design
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: I designed this banner to bring an epic feeling to 3 of Sony PlayStations best selling titles.

PlayStation The Pad Concept – Design
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: I designed this lounge style environment that would act as the homepage for the PlayStation Pad, a lifestyle content hub for Sony that provided users with the opportunity to check out videos, customize Vans shoes, play viral games and win contests.

Sony PSP Press Play Magazine- Design
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: Press Play was a quarterly PSP magazine that was distributed on memory sticks to inform users of new PSP features and projects. Prior to my involvement in the program, the title screens for Press Play were generically branded. I tackled the opportunity to bring a seasonal feel to each cover and the client loved it.

PlayStation Jumbotron Screens- Design
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: These screens were designed with accompanying animated “Power Rings” that were played on the strip of screens that wrapped various stadiums across Canada and the US during hockey and baseball games. Video and game footage would play within the PSP screen.

Canada Plays PSP – Art Direction
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: I art directed and story boarded this television spot that was directed by my friend Ben Shirinian and animated by Logan in Los Angeles, California. We wanted to create a path that brought the viewer through key points in Canada’s landscape and revealed that the path was in fact the shape of a PSP.

PS3 The Wait – Art Direction and Design
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: After I designed a simple garden sign for Wal-Mart that featured flying ships over a city skyline built solely out of PlayStation 3 consoles, Sony decided to push forward with the artwork and use it as it’s national launch campaign for PS3. I ended up designing billboards for the whole country, a subway takeover at Toronto’s Eglington Station and storyboarding the cinema spot for “The Wait” which was directed by my friend, Ben Shirinian.

PS3 Launch Event Art – Design
Client: Sony PlayStation via Segal Communications Project Details: At the launch event for the PS3, artwork was looped on screens around the venue. My goal was to take simple games like, darts, tic tac toe and checkers and push them to their limits. I created everything from scratch in Illustrator with the exception of the whole in the wall for the “Darts” piece.
