Fully Wholly by Bryan Espiritu

Here are some examples of various Illustrations I’ve done, ranging from Finger Paintings to finer vector works.

FullyWholly: Air Yeezy

Project: Design 3 FullyWholly’s to coincide with the release of the Nike Air Yeezy.

FullyWholly: The Simpsons

Project: Design FullyWholly’s based on the characters from one of my all-time favorite television shows, The Simpsons

FullyWholly: Back Home

Project: A collection of FullyWholly’s describing my thoughts on Filipino culture. Big thanks goes to the Kapisanan Philippine Center for inviting me to display these at their 2009 Artist Showcase.

FullyWholly: Because The Kids Don’t Play

Project: This collection was created to coincide with a poem I wrote entitled, “Because the Kids Don’t Play”. I wanted to create a disturbing juxtaposition between the content of the writing and the familiar visuals that resonate with all of our youth.

FullyWholly: Sicko (aka Lonely T)

Project: I designed and illustrated this Fully Wholly while sick with H1N1 and pneumonia in November/December of 2009. It was the worst health related experience I had ever gone through excluding suicide attempts. I wanted to capture the feeling I had in a Fully Wholly while being sick. His alias is “Lonely T” because it spells Tylenol backwards and I was suffering from terrible cabin fever being alone.

FullyWholly: Clipse x Wristpect – Bridging The Gap

Project: This FullyWholly was designed to be used on a mixtape cover for my friend and long time supporter, DJ Wristpect. The mixtape is hosted by The Clipse and has a T.O. to V.A. theme. I used the hands to mimic KAWS’ use of white gloved hands since he does much of their artwork, and used the hand symbols based on the V.A. handsign used in their Popular Demand video. I created the T.O. handsign to give Torontonians something to run with.

This stuff is freaking great work. I love the Kids Dont Play. The D being like the Disney D. Reminds me of the inner kids the older folks can no longer be. love it for real.

And of coarse the back home. Although semi offensive I love the art of expression.

masterpieces.
