I got a call from the Red Bull office in Toronto yesterday saying that they wanted to send me over a case of their new Red Bull Energy Shots. I guess they know that I put in a lot of work in front of this laptop screen and realize how many people’s lives would gravely be affected by my choice to, I don’t know, sleep once in a while? (kidding). Obviously, I could make use of these, and I love Red Bull as a brand foremost and as an energy drink in general, so I gladly agreed. My first response was: “Yeah, let’s do it!” Followed by my first question, which was: “Is there any alcohol in it?”. lol. (The answer is no).
Melissa, the kind young lady who called me, said they were hitting up some influential folks in Toronto to check out the new product, and said she frequented my blog and 1LOVETO’s blog, amongst others. Lucky for her, my homey Brock from 1LOVETO was on his way to the crib, so they brought an extra case for him too..
So while I was at home meeting with my homey Bobby aka the undercover IdeallClothing Brand Assistant Extraordinaire, I got a visit from the ever happy and upbeat tag team duo of magnificent field marketing brilliance: Kyra and Ali, (happily pictured above). They trudged through the maze of one way streets and random Newfoundland-themed bars of the South Etobicoke core, aimlessly trekked through the plains of “Mississauga”, lost even with the help of Google Maps and MapQuest, and still, like Hobbits, Wizards, Trolls, and Elven people, (only in nicer parkas), continued through their journey to my house. Yes. They came directly to my house to drop the case off, still with smiles, laughter, good spirits, and nice glasses in tow.
Today, after my hellish workout and having spent a long night working on an illustration for Marcus Troy, the last thing I wanted to do was to be tired after picking my daughter up from school. So I cracked open one of the Energy Shots for my first go at it. I’ve had other 5-Hour drinks in the past, and they always seemed to make me ultra jittery, but these joints are pretty stable in terms of your climb to “extra awareness-ness”. They taste a bit stronger than regular Red Bull, but the flavor is definitely very similar, and the dope thing about them is that the mouth of the bottle is just a continuation of the cylindrical design. So what, right? Well, it makes it a lot easier to drink in a single shot because it’s more like drinking out of a glass than it is like drinking out of a little tiny bottle meant for, I don’t know, Trolls, Hobbits, or Elven people.
I’m definitely gonna need another one of these for tonight, so I’m packing one in my pocket. Not sure if they’re available in stores, but if you get a chance, try ‘em out and lemme know what you think. I might just do a new LegendsLeague Experiment with energy drinks to see which ones are most affective. I’ll sleep on it.

I’d say Red Bull is the best too (although I’ve only tried one other energy drink). I like the taste and I notice the pick-me-up but its not too bad where I’m getting the shakes or something tragic. I tried the energy drink called 5 Hour Energy drink and I’ll never drink that again. First of all the taste leaves a lot to be desired and it had me feeling weirded out. It wasn’t like it gave me a boost but more like it was fuckin’ with my system in an odd “I think I’m about to faint or throw up” sort of way. It really wasn’t cool or safe really lol. Geeze.
Sooo yea, Red Bull all the way!! And of course I have tried it with its bff 4 life Vodka, at Shuffle of course, and it wasn’t half bad. But it’s definitely a creeper.
Red bull energy drink has been my favorite for years, i’ve even tried out its other shots, sugar free and cola, they are pretty awesome….
