Raise It Up: A Ketsana/Ondoy Fundraiser

I recently saw a post for this event on Facebook and it caught my attention. This is the 3rd or 4th occasion that I’ve seen my peoples (friends/acquaintances) pulling together to raise funds for the victims of Ketsana/Ondoy, the storm that hit the Philippines weeks ago and damaged the lives and hearts of so many people.

Manila Guerilla

I have donated some Manila Guerilla shirts as giveaways with donation and have added on to an already amazing list of gifts that will be given back to those attending and helping to raise funds. I consider them “gifts” because we as human beings should always be willing to help those in need regardless of the return. The fact that my people who are throwing this event are giving items in exchange for donations is an amazing bonus for amazing deeds.

Toronto is a city fresh with culture. The population of Filipinos is widely spread across the GTA and is visible on any given day at any given corner of any street from Markham to Mississauga. I hope that we all can come together for a great cause and bring friends of any ethnicity to this event to show that there is a genuine sense of support that we have for one another in times of celebration and of need.
