Fully Wholly: The Simpsons Collection
by be.

As promised, here is the official release of my Fully Wholly Collection for The Simpsons. I’m so stoked.
Growing up, The Simpsons was one of my favorite cartoons. The perfect equation of psychology and humor is something that I still admire. The nuclear family and community broken into perfect fractions of attributes and stereotypical behavior is executed incredibly. The loving mother, the paycheck father, bratty son, genius middle child whose successes are almost always gone unnoticed, and the babied baby, amongst the local drunk, the religion captivated neighbors, the heartless wealthy boss, and onward and onward. The Simpsons was something that I admired for it’s brilliance. As a child it kept long hilarious conversations between me and my cousin Sherwin, it kept my mind cycling on the psychological positioning of people in our lives, and it kept me thinking of new, witty ways to make those I love smile and laugh. And it still does.
This collection of Wholly’s really took my imagination to a nostalgic imaginary place, and I freely portrayed each member of The Simpson Family in the manner that immediately struck me. I really enjoyed working on these, and I hope you guys enjoy them!
As always,
Bryan.

What’s a Wholly?
A “Wholly” is a stylized character who is composed of a base or shell that generally has 4 holes in it. Those 4 holes provide me with endless possibilities to solving graphic problems. I use the base or shell as a canvas to create the character, and the holes to act as ports to extensions of the character.
