I just got a phone call from my lady saying that there’s been reports that Bernie Mac is in fact alive. I hope this is true and not some insensitive joke or prank being played by some idiot.

This off of MTV.com:

“While Bernie Mac remains in the hospital under treatment for pneumonia, his rep slammed widespread media reports that the comedian is in very critical condition.

“Bernie Mac is still alive and being treated in a Chicago hospital for pneumonia and is expected to make a full recovery,” his rep, Danica Smith, told People.com. “We once again ask that the press respect his privacy and that of his family.”

The Chicago native, 50, entered the hospital last week and remained there over the weekend.

Fingers crossed.
